New Year's Day with Friends (友との元旦)

あけましておめでとうございます

今年もよろしくお願いいたします

Happy New Year !!

メインの２０２５年は、雨でスタート。

１日中、雨が降り続けましたが、我が家では、友と楽しいひと時を。

The year of 2025 started with rain.

While the day was all day rain.

our house was filled by friends' big smiles.

昨年は、実家で、３０年ぶりに家族で祝い、

今年は、４年ぶりに、我が家で友と一緒に、美味しいお酒で乾杯！

Last year, we had Osechi with families in Japan.

This year, we had it with friends in Maine.

The last Osechi with friends was 4 years ago.

It was very nice feeling to celebrate with friends.

今年も、いつもと同じ我が家のおせち。
Our osechi is usually as is.
お重箱の中は・・・チラシ寿司。Inside of the first lacquered box is .... Chirashi Sushi.

「とびこ」をかけるのを忘れ、ちょっと色不足。でも、「とびこ」苦手な方がおられたので、結果OK。笑
Since I forgot to decorate "Tobiko (fish eggs)",the red color was missing.However, I found later one guest doesn't prefer "Tobiko"The result was good ^^
次の重箱には、スモークサーモン。Second box was Smoke Salmon.
”シャケの昆布巻き”が作れずに、赤いお魚が欲しいと。我が家の周りでは、スモークサーモンが簡単に入手できるのが嬉しいね。

This year, "Salmon wrapped in Kelp" was replaced by "Smoke Salmon" ^^

Indeed, Smoke Salmon is very easy to find in this area. We are very lucky !

お昼からスタートして、気づけば、夕方４時。

とても、とても、楽しい時間でした。

笑顔いっぱいの一年のスタートに感謝です。

ありがとう〜〜。

２０２５年が平和でハッピーな年でありますように。

When we saw the clock, it was already 4:00PM.

Wow ! It passed 4 hours very very quickly.

We really enjoyed friendship.

We appreciate we started the Year of 2025 with full of happiness and smiles.

今年のおせち、今までと違った点が３つ。１）黒豆を、赤ワインで煮つめる　ー＞おせちの主調味料（醤油、さとう、みりん、お酒）と、異なった味と風味。なかなか良し。
２）栗きんとんの栗にロースト栗を使用　→ さつまいもに、ローストの色が移ってしまったためか、かなり色悪し。甘露煮の入手が非常に困難に対し、ロースト栗は入手が楽。さてさて、今後はどうしよう？
３）生のレンコンが入手できず、冷凍を使用　→　生に限る！（ほど良い粘り、サクサク感、香り、どれをとっても物足りない）+++
