Manhattan Relay - 4（マンハッタンリレー - 4 ）

ハドソン川を南下、ノースコーブを超えると、カヤッカーともお別れ。
あとは、ボートが最終スイマーO 氏をゴールへと導く。

Swimming South in the Hudson River,
our kayaker leaves us at North Cove.
Our boat, "TAZ", leads our last swimmer, Mr. O toward the goal.
ゴールは、スタート地点と同じ、ピアA.
オレンジ色のマークにタッチをするとゴールだ。
ボートからは、私たちスイマー、ボートキャプテン、オブザーバーが、
岸からは、係員、観光客が、O 氏にむかって、
「タッチ！タッチ！タッチ！」の声。

The goal is the same location as the start area, Pier A.
When the swimmer touches the orange buoy, it is goal !
From our boat, swimmers, the boat captain, and our observer,
and from the Pier, the event workers and tourists,
all yell to Mr. O,
"Touch ! Touch ! Touch !"
そして、タッチの瞬間には、大きな拍手！

Then, when he touches it, the place is filled by big exultations and applause.
ボートから精一杯「ありがとう」と手を振る私たち。
我々の声は、マンハッタンの高いビルに反響。
その音をわすれる事はないだろう。
そして、岸の人達が、大きく大きく手を振り替えしてくれた姿。
その姿、今もしっかりと、眼に焼き付いている。

We shout "Thank you !" to spectators with our waves.
Manhattan's high buildings echoed our voices.
People wave to us !
I will never forget the sound and the scene.
