March - 2 (弥生- 2)

日本では、「去っていく」といわれる３月。
こちらでは、
"March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."
(３月はライオンのように到来して、子羊のように終わる）

メインの３月の始まりは、日中は、どんより雲。
そして、夜には雪。そんな日が続いていた。
もしかして、この成句、当たっているのかも。

In Japan, March is said to be "the month of leaving."
Here in America,
people say "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."

Indeed, in Maine, these days are dark gray clouds by noon and snow at night.
Maybe this idiom fits this year !?


この成句にたずさわる本を、と探してみたら、
上の絵本が見つかりました。
でも、近所のまわりの４つの図書館、どこにもありません。
残念だな・・・。

I found a book related to this idiom.
However, sad to say... four libraries around my house do not have the book :-(
