Train Trip (汽車の旅) -3 (from the border to Montreal)

カナダに入ると、コーン畑が広がります。
コーン畑のなかには、大きな大きな電力配線場所も。

After passing the border,the fields of Canada grow mostly corn.
Among them, there are big big power plants here and there.
セントローレンス川にかかる橋の向こうに、
モントリオールの町並み。
夕暮れどき、ちょっぴりロマンティクな気分。

We see Montreal downtown through the bridge over the St. Lawrence river.
It is a little romantic moment under the sunset.
そんな時、「電気が消えますよ〜。」という車内放送。
そして、真っ暗に。
カナダの主要駅では、到着時に車内電気を消すのが普通だとか。
その後、灯りがついて、ほっと。

However, then, "We will shut down the lights !"
Inside of train becomes dark dark dark..even though the lights are turned back on after a short time.
Indeed, we learned that in Canada, the train must shut down their power when arriving at the train building.
そして、無事に駅の外に出たと思えば、
私たちを待っていたのでは、
２０台を超えるパトカーのうるさいまでのサイレン音。

Then, when we go to out side of the Montreal station,
big noisy sirens from over twenty's police cars welcomes us.
ニュースによれば、学生のデモ行進との事。
モントリオールは、びっくりの２連で幕開けです。

According to the News, the reason was the students' demonstrate in Montreal.
